It's a reasonable approximation of what the Moon looks like, although the exact view varies depending on various factors such as your location and time. The image above is updated daily—the images in the feeds below are updated more frequently.

If you're looking for a more accurate view, try the north and south views of the Moon below. They are slower to load but they are more accurate and detailed, and they update hourly. The detailed views are especially useful for astronomers who are interested in features near the terminator (the line between day and night), or near the limbs (edges).
